Wool (Merino, Coopworth, Corriedale, Rambouillet, Wensleydale, Gotland), silk, linen, coton, jute, natural dye

This piece is inspired by the textures found in the beautiful Acadian forest of New Brunwick

Very grateful to @artsnb for the opportunity to explore textural paper weavings over the last year.

Current warp on the loom- naturally dyed linen :)

Dyed with marigold, madder, brazilwood and avocado pits.

I think this fabric will end up as tote bags :)

Earlier this year I started a project involving paper weaving.

Excited to share some pics of a recent project. The cloth for this handbag was made as part of an independent study at the @nbccdtextilesstudio exploring the applications of deflected double weave.

This week as part of the #nbccdlive residency I've been doing some sampling on the loom to get more acquainted with a weave structure called rep weave. I like how it can be used to get these interesting geometric patterns.

Decided to turn the sample

Working on a collection of handwoven linen cushion covers as part of the @nbccdlive summer residency. Linen is a strong and beautiful natural fibre. It comes from the flax plant and at the moment it's my favourite fibre to work with.
